Tiny Pennies… extended

You just want my money, honey

You just want my time

but of all the things you want from me

you never want my mind

I didn’t ask for your words

Still, you gave them all to me

Filled your lungs with what they’re worth

but I know what you mean

It hurts me so bad,

the way you look right past,

you never seem to notice that,

the good times won’t last

you don’t at all revere ,

yours, or mine time here

I just wanted to feed the ducks

seeing as they had grown

but you wished you had better luck

I thought I might as well be alone

It was autumn in New York

I thought, “what more could you need?”

Living up these red brick steps

with heaven outside, indeed.
